Hi everyone! Let me introduce myself properly, I’m Carina, a Filipino-American “aging” millennial as I’d like to categorize myself, (the name of the blog is pure irony 😉 ) I have been thinking of starting up my own blog/website for quite sometime now, but haven’t had the time (who does?) or idea on how to go about it. My husband really, was the one who encouraged me to finally jump the gun and do it. So finally, after much thought and consideration, I’m here and theagelessmillennial.com was born. I work in the healthcare field by night (uh-huh I live in the walking dead hours) and try to keep a sane schedule the rest of the week, (if I can) and do the things I love like travel, shop, eat, spend time with loved ones and shop again. 😉
My mother who is the greatest writer alive for me, was the one who thought me how to write and not just proper words and sentences, but to really write well. I want to surprise her with this blog (she is a voracious reader, but tech-challenged just like most baby boomers, ha!) and maybe write an article here soon, so stay tuned for that. I say this because she honed me to become not just who I am today, but she inspires me to express myself well with words, I hope I make her proud with this blog.
I’ve always been in love with writing, I remember I used to write journals when I was young, write fictional short stories, I always thought there was power in the written word, how it can affect people, storytelling is just a gift to share with others. As I became an adult, life happened and I admit I haven’t been expressing myself much.
I have moved in a different city for the past 5 years, filling up background checks gives me anxiety since I need a cheat sheet for my past addresses. I lived in the Philippines since I was 24, moved to Singapore to work for a little over a year, moved to the US after that, lived in Florida (North and South), now I am in California. Whew! That was long! So I am certainly a champ in moving! All these places have a special place in my heart as I they all have given me rich experiences, amazing memories and made me a well-rounded person.
In my early twenties, I used to write for a now defunct online magazine, have published work for a newspaper years ago in the Philippines, (I’m still debating if I should put up my previous work here 😉 ) and I feel that was a lifetime ago and I am a completely different person then and have grown so much. Which is why I needed an outlet to express myself uncensored, without any rules and share things I love, feel passionate about, people I adore, or not so much, rant…lalallalalaaaa…..
Welcome to my blog.
