The last days of summer is upon us, which means that all the frolicking in the sun, parading on the beach in a bikini and non-stop vacationing left and right in this glorious weather will soon be over. I seriously can’t wait for Fall as I have been on massive shopping sprees for the past months, I’m excited to wear all my new outfits. Hehe. 😉 But for now I am basking in the heat and humidity, as much as I can.
Hubby and I have been loving going to San Diego, in La Jolla particularly. Though we already live in Huntington Beach, we are always trying to find new places to explore, and fun things to do. We have actually gone to La Jolla twice for this summer already. We love it that much! There’s kayaking, snorkeling, and I absolutely love seeing the Sea Lions and seals in La Jolla Cove. On our first visit the tide was high and there were some baby crabs all over the beach! Oh my!
In this heat, I dared myself to wear more vibrant colors and veer away from “safe colors” like black, or most earth tones which are more suited in the cooler months. And of course, I chose red as it is one of my favorite colors of all time! 😎
I wore this red and black romper from Billabong which was absolutely gorgeous! I got a size Medium based on the reviews online, and paired it with a black bralette, find similar here. My bag is from last year, you can find another one here. Of course I wore my fave Ipanema sandals. Here is a similar pair.
Another fab find this season for me is this red Billabong one-piece. This brand is killing it this season with all their swimsuits and cover-ups, the designs are very modern and feminine, for those of us who are non-surfers! This color is so gorgeous, I really like crochet detail in the middle, the only thing I’m not fond of is the fact that it is not lined. I wore some nipple tape underneath, I haven’t swam in them, so I don’t know if they’re gonna stay put in the water. It also comes in other colors, I’m literally obsessed and want to buy all of them. Ha!
I’m foreseeing another San Diego trip in the near future for us, or maybe my husband and I should look into Palm Springs instead? Either way, a trip to the beach is always very welcome in my books. How about you? What are your final summer vacation plans?
