Summer and warm weather means lots of outdoor fun, barbecues, lazy holidays and of course beach time! I don’t know about you but I think finding the perfect beach cover-up is just as important as finding a bikini. You want it to be comfortable, yet stylish. And in all colors if you found the perfect match 😉 Trust me there is one (or two, or three) with your name on it, who knows I might have it might be in one of my picks here. I’m petite (5’4) So I have certain criteria on what I look for in beach cover-ups. Here’s what I got:

 

 

Color. Spring/summer is so much fun especially with vibrant colors and prints that make you go out STAT! I try to stay away from darker hues this time of the year, but I do love black because it’s universally flattering and of course- is very forgiving on those problem areas 😉

Length. I avoid overly long and wide dresses being short and all 😉 like the ones where I have to wear heels with to the beach with. Maybe in photoshoots they can look cute, but in reality, it’s no fun tripping on your self while you walk in the beach. If you have the same body type, I suggest you do the same, and it will save you all the trouble in alterations.

Fabric. I look for cotton and other breathable materials so I know I will be comfy despite any heat and sweat. Plus points if it’s machine washable so I can throw in it the wash after frolicking in the beach. Also, I prefer light and packable ones (not too heavy) so I can just smash it in my beach bag/luggage real easy.
