I absolutely adore ruffles! Who doesn’t? I think they are the cutest thing that can happen to any outfit! A plain skirt, when jazzed up with some ruffles takes it to the next level. These days ruffles are everywhere from sweaters to swimsuits. Yazz! I am totally obsessed and love how it adds volume to my ehem..modest chest. 😉 Ruffles make any piece of clothing (or home decor for that matter) interesting and exciting! They are super flattering and not to mention fun! Today I’ve rounded up your next summer must have- the ruffled bikini.
Clockwise from top left: Navy cold shoulder bikini, Multi-colored ruffled bikini, Pale blue and white ruffled-lined bikini, Cream lattice scooped bikini
Since I have a petite frame and tiny bone structure, I like more poofy styles like the one I am wearing above. Maybe if you have a bigger frame, you can try a scooped neck with ruffle edges or a ruffled sleeves instead (some are pictured here). I say if you want to downplay some features like wider hips, maybe stay away from ruffled bikini bottoms and stick to darker shades like navy, deep purple or black. I know choosing a bikini can be tricky for most women, you are almost naked after all, but trust me ruffles can be worn by anyone, you just have to find which style is the most flattering fit on you.
Left to right: Light blue striped bikini, Multi-colored ruffled bikini, Lime ruffled bikini
So for me I stay away from bandeau types of bikinis, where the lining/hem is totally straight on the chest area. I tend to go for more halter types of bikinis with a lot of detail on them, and ruffles are my absolute favorite. I love the colors white, maybe yellow/lime and lots of color for the beach. For my large-chested ladies out there, maybe you want to stay away from too much stuff going on the chest and focus on other areas like your shoulders or back. Ruffled onepieces are super cute too, I’m linking some on the widget below. 😉

These swimsuits are super cute, but I’m already a D cup so I don’t want to draw any more attention to my bust than is already there.
I feel this style looks better on people with smaller chests.

Yes girl, you are right. I know some of us have are less fortunate in that department, ehem me. But others are the total opposite. There are styles that don’t give much volume to chest area itself, like ruffled sleeves, or darker shades like navy or black. There are ruffle-lined bikinis as well that come in all shapes and sizes! 🙂
