5 Ways to Wear the Midi Skirt

Comfy yet chic, the midi skirt is one you can wear from day to night, summer to fall. Anyone can pull it off, whether you’re petite or plus-sized. Ever since I can remember, I have always loved midi skirts. First of all, they’re not too short, they flatter most figures and they can hide your flaws. 😉 Like if you’re having a bloated kind of day. Hehe. Today, I’m sharing my favorite ways on wearing midi skirts. I also found lots of cute ones and am including them in this post.

Midi skirts

I love wearing midis because it just makes me feel like such a girly girl and I usually choose an ultra-feminine design such as flowers (as shown here) or other cute prints. Here are 5 ways I like to wear them with:

1. Tanktops. I’m petite and wearing a skirt which has some flare to it makes my frame look a bit wider and bigger, so I like the slimming effect of a tighter tank top to accentuate my tiny upper body. A loose top on a loose skirt will create a boxier look on a smaller body.

2. Tees/ Long-sleeve tops. I would wear a long sleeve tee/top if I need to be a bit more formal, like going to an event, to church or watching the opera. You can layer it with a denim jacket if it’s in the daytime or even a leather jacket for the night.

3. Blazer on top of a T-shirt. I’ve worn this to job interviews and conferences. Instead of a pencil skirt, a midi gives you a more youthful and fun look instead of too stiff and formal.

4. Bodysuits. A midi skirt can also double as a beach coverup. Why not? Wear it like a tank top on the beach. Maybe throw in a pretty scarf on top. Voila! Instant cuteness. The downside to this is the peeing part. You get the picture ladies 😉

5. Sweaters. I never thought that sweaters could be worn other than with leggings and jeans. But wear it with a skirt and some sneakers and a baseball cap and you are ready for a casual date night or maybe watching an afternoon baseball game in cooler temps.
