Inner wear or should I say sleepwear as outerwear (like for wearing outside the house) has been an ongoing trend for years now. It’s like wearing a silk cami for a day out shopping or sporting pajamas to cocktails. Comfort and style before reason? Or have people have lost their minds and when have we stopped being appropriate? I think it can be done, to some degree, and with caution. And one garment at a time so as not to overdue it.
So why not lace crochet to the beach? It as a cute swimsuit trend that I cannot complain about, since I have become a fan. Forget about your grandma’s knitted crochet, these days designers are taking it to the next level and make crochet not just sexy, but functional- and yes appropriate too.
When I first saw it online I was of course hesitant to sport something a bit too revealing, some of the swimsuit styles aready leave nothing to the imagination, but a see-through suit? I thought maybe I’ll pass. But after reading some reviews online on how comfortable and flattering they were, I decided to try the lace crochet swimsuit trend as well.
Becca Crochet Onepiece Swimsuits in Steel, White and Black
Becca Swimwear in particular has nailed it this season with their collection of lace crochet that comes in regular and plus sizes. This light blue halter one I’m wearing is so universally flattering for all body types, whether you are petite, small-chested, plus size, curvy, tall etc.
I’m already thinking of wearing a cute skirt with it, or shorts as this can easily pass as a nice summer top, perfect for layering and also for your next summer barbecue!
It is lined so you are not overly exposing yourself if that’s what you are thinking girlfriend. The sides are see-through but it hides those that need to be hidden. It has padded cups for comfort and I would treat this delicately and definitely hand wash it, I hand wash all of my swimsuits anyway, that makes them last longer. 🙂

I got this mauve one piece as well, this style I think is for more of the bolder types. It shows more skin for sure, especially the chest area, and I have to say that it does not really offer much support if you have bigger boobs. The back is adjustable but just so you are warned and not have a wardrobe malfunction while wearing this, I suggest wearing nipple tape under as a precaution.
On the other hand, both of these suits are extremely comfortable, they are super airy (obviously) and I suggest you give any of these crochet styles a try. They are a refreshing change from the sometimes ho-hum bathing suit that can get pretty monotonous. And of course you’ll feel sexy while wearing them too. Seriously, I felt like I had nothing on while wearing both these styles. They are not scratchy too unlike your loungewear variety.

These are all very cute, but unfortunately suits like this often do not provide the support needed for large chested ladies. I know I couldn’t wear one of these without some serious (and awkward!) sagging happening on my upper half.
So true friend! Yes I agree. The halter one has plus sizes but yes they do not offer ample support for bigger chested ladies. Other styles might be better.. BUT a suggestion is wearing a sports bra or bikini underneath for more support. Thanks! 😉
