With summer in full swing, everybody has vacation plans, road trips and fun vacation stuff planned to make the most of this beautiful weather. Most people just want to cool off, go to the beach or pool and maybe grab a refreshing drink or two. I for one feel extremely blessed to live in a beach city where the sand meets the sea is accessible all year round.
Which brings me to one of my biggest obsessions: swimsuits! Don’t get me wrong, I am just like you, flaws and all, so am always on the hunt for flattering yet stylish swimwear all year round. They can be pricey, but the trick is to know where the best deals are to get them 😉 There are lots of stores online that go on sale all the time, so be on the lookout! That’s how I score myself some awesome deals on these cute swimmies. 😉
If you read my previous post on ruffled bikinis you will know that I absolutely adore ruffles. They are so beautiful, feminine not to mention fun and yes they make any boring outfit fabulous. When I recently found some flattering and cute off the shoulder one piece swimsuits, I knew they have to make it here on the blog. So in this post, I’m sharing some cute off the shoulder one piece swimsuit styles to try today.

Why off the shoulder you may ask, because I feel like there are some women who are not comfortable in showing too much skin. This goes for me as well. There are times when I just don’t want to overexpose myself in public, yet I still want to feel stylish and put together. I feel like off the shoulder pieces, particularly ruffled ones do that job pretty well and anyone can wear them really. There are plus sizes for most styles and you can even wear shorts to the beach like I did here (see photos below)
The Cold Shoulder is a style wherein there is some sort of strap on the shoulder and it is not fully exposed as opposed to a full on off the shoulder where there are no straps. This pink one I’m wearing is technically a cold shoulder but the brand describes it as an “off the shoulder” swimsuit. The shoulder is exposed thus it being called the cold shoulder. The advantage of this style is that the shoulder straps stay put as opposed to off the shoulder ones where there are no straps thus the risk of it falling, and there are some styles that really do not stay up on your arms!

Flounce with Tropical or Palm prints. This next style is one I truly adore. A typical flounce swim top has somewhat a smaller ruffle detail (some have the bigger ones) and the tropical print makes it very summery. Leaf details or palm prints are the same, they somehow make you feel very exotic like you’re in Hawaii or the Bahamas. I feel like this design is very modern and it’s not your typical Hawaian t-shirt variety. It has evolved into a more youthful and vibrant appearance. Since this style is already busy looking, I would refrain from wearing other prints on my shorts or anywhere else.
Lips Two Faced
Pom Details. Is it me or was last year the year of everything pom? From sweaters to beanies to earrings this style was everywhere! And now it just has to be in our swimsuits too! I love this one from Missguided, although I feel like I’m selling Chiquita bananas while I’m wearing it. Lol. 😉 Some may shy away from this color as it is too vibrant and bright, but you can opt for darker colors like navy or black with pom details and it would still have the same effect! Fun but muted and definitely sexy! I would wear this off the shoulder suit with a cute maxi skirt or even white jeans. The straps could be adjusted into an asymetrical shoulder (see third to last pic below) and it will make your look totally different.

I’ve started wearing one piece swimsuits in the past few years and I love how fun all of these styles are! I havn’t seen too many off the shoulder or cold shoulder ones but I think that is such a cute detail to make a swimsuit more stylish. All the ones you have are so cute, but my favorite would have to the the yellow pom one! I agree that last year was definitely the year of the pom, but I’m so glad it’s still around this year because it’s such a fun style. You look amazing in all of these too!
