Confession: I love dangling earrings. It goes way back in high school when I wore those colored bead earrings and I seriously wore them nonstop even during physical education class. One girl in my class said, “You’re the only one who’ll wear dangling earrings while playing table tennis, no one else does,” 😉 I took that as a compliment, setting aside my table tennis skills.
I remember I used to sell earrings and bead bracelets as a young girl and my fondness for earrings and color has never left me. They instantly add a touch of femininity to any outfit and they are just so fun! I actually feel naked leaving the house with no earrings on, and I just love them- from pearls to studs, semi-precious stones and in particular, anything with vibrant colors!
Earrings that are colorful, dangling and playful are definitely conversation pieces. In this season of fun in the sun, I share with you my favorite types of statement earrings. I wear them not just to the beach, but on casual date nights, road trips, going to the mall, brunch and lots more!
Tassel Earrings
BaubleBar Tassel Fringe Earrings
I used to look at tassels and thought they were only for curtains, drapes and household furniture. I did not like them at all. Not even when the trend started awhile back and designers started to put them in bags, shoes and whatnot. Then one day I saw these cute yellow tassel earrings and I was instantly hooked! I have loved them ever since! What I like most about tassel earrings is that it elongates the face (for longer types) and that they move with you which looks so pretty when your hair is blowing in the wind on the beach!

Ball Drop Earrings
Similar Ball Drop Earrings here and here. More below 😉 Bikini Lululemon. Similar one here.
Ball Drop Earrings are my second fave among the bunch as they can be worn for formal events as well. The gold one below can be worn during weddings, or other black-tie events. When I’m wearing a dangling one, I always feel like a disco balls are moving below my ears! 😉

Shell or Stone Earrings
This is a classic. Beautiful shell or stone earrings can just be worn everyday (like I did when I was in high school) and instantly spruce up any plain outfit. A great example is when you wear a plain black dress and pair it with a beautiful pair of teal colored stone earrings like the ones below! I feel like these earrings are here to stay in the long run. Nothing says summer like a pair of colored shell/stone earrings.

I love dangly earrings too, I just can’t get behind the tassel style ones. They’re too weird for my tastes and remind me of old draperies. 🙂
