This year has got to be the year of the awakening. First of course, is the new normal of the pandemic has absolutely shocked the world, making us realize that life is so precious, we need to make every second count 😩. The second biggest thing this year is the realization that not everyone is given a fair share- which makes people so sick of it. Today, most companies want that message or mission of inclusion and equality, regardless of color, shape and size. The same is true for beauty brands.
Patrick Starrr is one the Beauty Gurus I follow as I believe in his authenticity and his message which he always says- “Makeup is a One Size fits all.” His motto which actually inspired him to create his own makeup brand, One Size Beauty.
The first launch was on July 17 and it consisted of two products named Go Off- a pack of Makeup Wipes and a Makeup Dissolving Mist. You can watch my review on the video above and see how it compares to my drugstore brand fave, Neutrogena.
I love how he always says when he puts on makeup that he felt like was being included, a Filipino man wearing makeup, and not judged in any way, unlike when he goes to a store where not all brands catered to his size. His message of wanting to create a brand that is inclusive, and will make everyone regardless of color, gender or size feel like they can wear his products is truly commendable👏
He came up with an eyeshadow palette, eye shadow toppers and eye liners not too far behind after his Go Off launch. Pretty impressive! All I can say is that it’s high time that transparency and inclusivity be highlighted by makeup brands since they cater not only to one specific crowd. People need to be able to relate to brands including minorities and persons of color. And that is the step toward a better future in the beauty industry. If only they can create more darker shades for every new foundation released then everyone will be happy. Hint, hint.
